Subject: Bereavement Protocol

Purpose: To support the chapter members in their time of grief

Procedure:

1. The Recording Secretary will send an appropriate greeting card to any current or retired member of Chicago APIC who has lost a family member. Current Chicago APIC Chapter board members will determine who is considered a family member.

2. A monetary contribution will be made in the event of the death of any current or retired member of Chicago APIC. Current Chicago APIC Chapter board members will determine the amount of the contribution.

3. The contribution will be made in memory of the Chapter member to their or their family's charity of choice. If there is no charity of choice the contribution will be made to the APIC Research Foundation.

4. Any and all contributions will be made in accordance with the Chicago APIC Chapter bylaws.
